Released without a hint of fanfare first time round in 2021, this deeply intimate collaboration between Ukrainian vocalist Yana Pavlova and Berlin-based producer Pavel Milyakov continues to command attention, almost of its own accord. Built out of minimal guitar patterns, submerged dub-influenced bass and spectral saxophone contributions from Alex Zhang Hungtai, the LP unfolds through a mix of improv and aleatory algo-synthesis, where rather than smoothing over imperfections, the artists lean into them; mic rustle, background clicks and ambient irregularities all inform on its dark jazzy, trancelike post-humanoid atmos.
