"Gloomy half-stepping Bass cuts" -Hardwax
"Deep, moody tribalism cooked in a way that only Dylan Brownswood knows how; 'Fluktuationen' is a concept collection on Nullpunkt that places us right in the middle of DB1's drumkit and refuses to let us go. Like 'B-Sides' on Nullpunkt two years ago (and 'Sparse' a year or so before that) each track avoids any nomenclature bias with its numeric titles. The first cut draws us in hypnotically with dubby pads and a sparse groove before the second one introduces more industrial textures and a much more sinister twist. Flip for two more parts to this bleak, disarming drama... Part three continues the ice cold theme with mournful textures similar to those you might find on a label like Samurai before the paranoid spasms and twists of cut four finish us off. Fluking ace." -Juno
"Four amazing dark and deadly bass transmissions from London's Dylan Brownswood a.k.a. DB1 on Germanys Nullpunkt label. Occupying the murky waters between dub, halftime, percussvie techno and ambient these are right up my street. A definite spin at the next HOLY." -Dubwise
